Small enterprises, thanks to their entrepreneurial character, have played a very important role in the economic transition of the former socialist countries. Namely, the small enterprises were the crucial element in process of transition and privatization. This paper is exactly about the position and importance of small enterprises for economic structure. It is also about business problems the small enterprises encounter in transition countries. Economic measures of support for small enterprises development in these countries are highly emphasized, in order to overcome the existing problems and try to have this sector transformed into a dynamic and market oriented part of the economy.References
