MODERNIZATION OF THE HIGHER EDUCATION AS A FACTOR OF CREATION OF AN ECONOMIST CAPABLE TO ADDRESS THE CHALLENGES OF THE MARKET ECONOMY

Abstract

BiH records high rates of unemployment, and the young ones are especially affected, with the unemployment rate far higher than the average one. The higher education is facing the challenges of the market economy that demands to produce with the available resources an economist for the needs of the future economy. This paper offers special consideration of the needs for improvement of the teaching process according to requirements of the reforms called the "Bologna process", which requires provision of the students' mobility, enhancement of the quality of the studies and of the percentage of employment of the graduate students. Inciting the students' mobility is probably the key mechanism that might, with the aid of the available resources, reach the high quality of the teaching process and the resulting students' knowledge.
